The Shipmate of the Year

The Shipmate of the Year Lone Sailor Award Statue started during our first President Joseph T. Walker whose term was  1997-2000 Joe was awarded the 2000 Shipmate of the Year Award which was started during his term by John Pinto Chairman and Lou House  Sr. Vice President at the time of the Award. The Shipmate of the Year Lone Sailor Statue is presented to the shipmate who has been an outstanding member who has followed the By- Laws and Constitution of the USS POWER ASSOCIATION with dues in order and who has attended the reunions giving up his time to volunteer to help the Association advance. The object of the Power association is to foster friendship and goodwill remembering always our belief in freedom of thought, words, and deeds and remembering our shipmates present and departed. The Executive Board Members and the last Shipmate of the Year Award member pick the candidates to be voted on for the year before. The Lone Sailor Statue is presented to the shipmate at our annual Banquet Dinner each year by the Acting President.

 

The Lone Sailor Award

The Lone Sailor Award is given to Sea Service veterans who have excelled with distinction in their respective civilian careers while exemplifying the Navy core values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. Join an impressive list who has distinguished themselves by drawing upon their military experience to become successful.
